Shipping
We offer flat-rate shipping:
- $4.99 for orders up to $50 and delivered within Illinois
- Free for orders above $50 and delivered within Illinois
- $7.49 for orders up to $75 and delivered outside Illinois
- Free for orders above $75 and delivered outside Illinois
We strive to ship orders within 3 business days of receipt. We ship orders via UPS and US Postal Service ground services. Shipments to Illinois residents usually arrive within 3 days of dispatch. Orders outside Illinois may take 7 days or more.
We ship only within the continental United States; no deliveries to Alaska or Hawaii at this time. We cannot ship to PO Boxes. Invalid orders will be canceled and refunded, less processing fees.
We do not have an express shipping option. If you’re in a rush, we suggest visiting the store to pick up your items.
In-store Pickup
If you prefer, you can pick-up any order in our store. Payment for in-store pickup orders must be made online at the time of order.
Once an order is ready for pickup, we will send a notification email to the address provided with the order. Bring the order receipt email and a valid photo identification to the store to claim and receive the purchase.
In-store pickup orders will be held for a maximum of 30 days after notification. Orders not claimed within 30 days will be refunded to the original payment method, minus a processing and restocking fee equal to 15% of the order.
Items are usually ready within 3 business days of the order. You may contact help@dandelionbookshop.com to check on the status of an in-store pickup order.
Preorder Policy
We offer many items for sale before they are released by the publisher or manufacturer. These items are clearly marked “Preorder” on our website.
Payment for preordered items is required at the time of order. Orders that include one or more preorder items will not ship until all items have been released for sale; these orders cannot be split into multiple shipments. Once released, preordered items may not ship immediately. Preordered items usually ship within 3 business days after the release date. Similarly, in-stock pickup orders containing preordered items are usually available within 3 business days after the release date.
Preorder release dates shown on our website are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Release dates may change without prior notice. If you wish to cancel your preorder, please contact help@dandelionbookshop.com before the order ships.
Return Policy
We want you to love the books and other goods purchased from us. If you’re unhappy with your purchase, you may return it within 30 days of purchase. Please deliver or send your return to:

You must include the original order number and receipt with your return. You are responsible for return shipping costs.
Once your return is received, we will issue a credit to the card or method used to place the order. Shipping charges will not be refunded. Refunds may take two weeks or more to process. If you ship your return, we strongly recommend you keep the tracking information to confirm when the item was delivered to us.
Returned items must be in good, working condition. Shrink-wrapped or sealed products must be unopened. If we determine an item is unreasonably damaged, the return will be denied. When denied, you may choose to have the item sent to you or have the item recycled or destroyed by us. If you choose to receive the item again, you are responsible for paying the total cost of shipping. We will make commercially reasonable efforts to use a cost-effective shipping method.
We do not accept returns for book orders in quantities of 10 or more (having the same title or stock keeping number) or for any order including $500 or more of the same item.
